Kadomatsu / Japanese New Year's ornament for entrance / Disposal

A pair of ornaments of plants are called Kadomatsu.
Kadomatsu,Shimenawa-Kazari,and Kagami-Mochi are traditional important New Year ornaments.
In end of year,Japanese people put Kadomatsu in front of their entrance until January 7-15.

Single Kadomatsu is useless.
A pair of Kadomatsu is effective as a talisman and lucky charm.
(It avoids evil spirits from outside and takes good luck)
Kadomatsu needs thorns plants like pine tree or cut bamboo.
Evil spirits hate thorns indeed.

Also, please add red nandina or other red things in your Kadomatsu.

Red color things in entrance is really effective.
Evil spirits hate red things.
Christmas wreath is also good.
Please choose a real pine tree's branch wreath.

After exhibition ,ornaments must be disposed at shrine.
Most shrines accept New Year ornaments trash.
Shrine priests burn them at shrine and it is called Donto-yaki(Dondo-yaki) ceremony.
If you don't have Shinto shrines in your neighborhood,
please dispose ornaments as a garbage by January 15.
Don't burn New Year ornaments in your garden or property
because these already absorbed bad air of house.
Cinders and ash also have bad atmosphere.

I bought a pair of plants pot at Rite aid pharmacy.3.99 each.
Bad spirits really hate a pair of thorns plants.
Because they can't enter into the house or apartment room.
