[Hotel Review] Renewal Opening at Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku Serviced Apartments & Hotel

These days it is getting popular with staying at apartment rather than hotels partly thanks to the rental of private residence, in Japan known as minpaku (民泊). If you're one of those who prefer the convenience of a private apartment but don't want to stay in a private residency there are also some alternatives out there like Hundred Stay Serviced Apartments & Hotel located a couple of minutes walk from Otsuka station in the popular Shinjuku area of Tokyo.
Hundred Stay comes with private apartments that have significantly more space than the regular hotels. Yet it still has a normal check-in counter and some of the convenient facilities you usually find at a hotel such as a cafe/lounge on the first floor and a small gym that can be used by staying guests.

The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation, and some of their rooms are scheduled to have their renewal opening this upcoming April (2017). To celebrate the renewal opening the hotel hosted a reception party a couple of weeks ago, and we all got a tour of the new rooms.

In fact all the 3 top floors of the hotel have gone through a complete rennovation, and these three floors have each gotten their own theme: The 17th floor is themed after the lavender, the 18th floor on the red autumn leaves momiji (紅葉), and the 19th floor, which happens to be their top floor is dedicated to the cherry blossom sakura (桜). During our tour of the apartments we got to see the rooms on the top sakura floor.

All the rooms come with a small kitchen area where those to prefer to dine in can prepare their food themselves.

This base is the same for both the double and twin rooms. In addition Hundred Stay Tokyo Shinjuku also has some fancy suite rooms if you want more beds and bigger living rooms. The amenities are more or less the same so I have only included photos of the beds and living room of the suites below:

Japanese Family Suite

Besides the regular suites there is even one type of suite room that in addition to having 4 regular beds also comes with a little private Japanese room where you can hang out. The Japanese room comes equipped with mattresses, so it is possible to have them arranged so that you can sleep on the tatami floor if you want.

Other rooms

In addition to the renovated rooms on the upper floors there are also rooms on the lower floors that haven't gone through renovation but that still are pretty awesome. I've included a couple of my photos from the lower room types below, and as you can see all of them have amazing views of Tokyo:
