Unboxing [UK]: Persona 5 - Steelbook Launch Edition (PS4)
Tuesday, April 4, 2017
It's officially Winter 2014 and Persona 5 is now available in English. Neat.
Persona 5 is the latest instalment in the Shin Megami Tensei spin-off series Persona, also known as Revelations: Persona back when it first came out. Persona effectively began on a tough layout where it had censorship and mixed reception but eventually gained more popularity and even changed style from Persona 3 onwards to include more high school social links and waifu-bait (pretty much). But on top of that is some great gameplay, with a story that can take up at least 70-100 hours of your time.
Persona 5 covers a new setting and a new cast of characters, in addition to a different voice actor for Igor as his original actor sadly passed away. The game does take place in the same universe as Persona 3 & 4 but you don't need knowledge of those two to understand the story. The story itself is reported to take at least 102 hours to complete which is pretty good.
This is also the first Persona game to offer both English and Japanese audio. Originally due to include only the English audio, the game got pushed back from February 14th to April 4th to sort out more quality control and offer a free download to the Japanese audio track. The Japanese audio track will require 2.7GB of space and will only translate the main characters and not the side stuff.
This Steelbook Launch Edition is basically the game in a steelbook case. Not much to say but it's got some nice art so I thought it would be nice to make a post about it.
