HARAPAN DJAYA COFFEE ROASTERS (AND FILOSOFI KOPI 2)
Tuesday, July 4, 2017
WHAT'S UP JULY?! A couple of days ago I went to have a coffee date with my good friend at this newly opened coffee shop called Harapan Djaya that's located around Panglima Polim area, precisely across Woodpecker Coffee. Technically this coffee shop has almost nothing to do with the movie Filosofi Kopi (nor the setting) which is coming next week, but one of the owners of this coffee shop, Muhammad Aga, starred in the movie. I honestly can't wait for the movie because I absolutely love the first one!
The naming tho... there's no special philosophy behind the naming as it's inspired from a big bus. The coffee shop's actually quite petite and very simple but somehow there's this decent homey vibe about it. While coffee has got to be the highlight (and varies from hot, cold, filter and creamy coffees), they also have non-coffee options like Tea, Tjampur Sari that you can pair with traditional snacks such as Bakcang, Onde-Onde, Donuts and more. Price range for the drink here ranges from IDR 20k-29k, defo cheaper than today's standard.

The Supreme pot, hipster af.
We ordered their Iced White (Kopi Dingin White - IDR 27k) and I love how they actually allowed us to pick the cups that we wanted (and boy were they pretty!), the coffee was more to the acidic side and I found them a tad watery. Should've gone with their Kopi Krim (Americano + cream, I was a little hesitant at first).Iced White (Kopi Dingin White) - IDR 27k
To be completely frank, I didn't order a lot to review, so overall: cozy place to chill, decent coffee (looking forward to explore the menus) and I'll definitely check out their light bites on future visits.
In the meantime, congrats on the opening and the best of luck!
