People say you never forget your 'first' anything. First kiss, first love, first failure..all stays in mind. For me, this film was my first favourite. I was 10 when I watched this film for the first time. I barely understood Hindi then. I watched it in the small box like TV in our home, on a Friday night movie. At that time we didn't even have cable connection and there would be only one channel which shows a movie on Friday night. I was just beginning to understand the emotions like romance. I was just 10 years old. And I fell in love with this film.
It indeed was my first favourite There had been a lot more favourite movies after this particular movie. But I'd never forget this one.
The film tells a cute and simple but dream like love story where a normal boy's dream do come true.
Story synopsis : Krishnakant Mathur, with pet name Kittu, was always just a normal boy. Just average in every thing. He doesn't even get good marks in college, for which he gets scolded by his middle class parents. But he excel in one area - the area of being a devoted fan. He is a hardcore fan of actress Mallika. She is just not his idol and some one he adores and worship, but also the girl of his dreams. He has collected over 2000 pictures of her that has ever appeared in a magazine or poster. And he has decorated his room full of them. He can die for her. His best friend is a girl named Nisha. Nisha is in love with Kittu, but Kittu has eyes only for Mallika.But one day Kittu fails in exam, and on telling this to his father, his father gets angry and goes in to his room and tears off all the pictures of Mallika off his walls. Kittu is hurt beyond limit. He just takes the torn poster in his hand and walks off from home, never to come back.
Kittu goes to Mumbai, and goes and stands in front of Mallika's home. He just want to catch at least a glimpse of her.
He then get noticed by a small restaurant owner. The restaurant is just near Mallika's home, and to stay near the house, Kittu takes up the job of a waiter in that restaurant.
One day Kitty get to see Mallika at shooting location and tell her his story. But she just get fascinated by it, and then gets called off from there by her uncle.
On the course Kittu comes to know about the shocking truth is that Mallika is actually forced by her greedy uncle to do films, and that the uncle just want her money, and he even physically hurt her a lot for money and to make her do what he wants her to.
One day Kittu see from his window hat Mallika is being hit by her uncle. He can't stand it, and he trespasses in to her room and hit the uncle with a flower pot. He gets unconscious. Kittu and Mallika flee from there.
Mallika is too happy to get rescued.
Kittu takes Mallika to his home. He hides her in bushes ad goes to see his family. His dad who is really guilty now, tell him that he has re decorated Kittu's room with Mallika's posters and pitures, and was waiting for Kittu to come back. After getting in to his room, Kittu let in Mallika to his room through the window. After seeing so many pictures of her Mallika is thunderstruck and happy.
From then on, news spread in world outside that Mallika was kidnapped by someone. Meanwhile Kittu is keeping Mallika concealed in his room, not letting even his parents and little sister or Nisha know about that.And slowly Mallika falls in love with Kittu..., what choice does she have when she is being treated like a princess by Kittu and she is being shown all the wonders of outside world and happinesses which she was deprived of yet.
But then, she discovers that Nisha also loves Kittu, and she thnks maybe Kittu loves Nisha too...
