The cherry blossom (sakura) season is drawing near and it's time to start planning for hanami (flower viewing) here in Japan. The chart above roughly shows when and where you can expect to find the pretty pink flowes.
Some of the major cities expect the cherries to blossom as follows:
Tokyo: March 21-26
Nagoya: March 23-28
Osaka: March 27-31
Fukuoka: March 22-26
Hiroshima: March 25-29
Sendai: April 4-7
Aomori: April17-23
Sapporo: April 29 - May 3
