Architecture Design Exibit 2017

I've never really figured out why companies or associations have their exhibits in the Tenmonkan arcade. There aren't that many customers for stuff like this, and it's kind of unfocused. But, this time we have an architecture display. I guess the idea was that pedestrians could let themselves be enlisted as informal judges of each of the designs. Their reward was a couple of pieces of hard candy from the sign-up table.

The exhibit ran Saturday and Sunday, and all the advertising material had it spelled "exibit". The designs were all experimental and conceptual. I kind of like this one, with the traditional Japanese fire watch tower in the courtyard.

It'd be interesting to have a building that splits in half like this. But, you'd have to have safety interlocks like mad to make it up to code.
