In the morning we drove over the bridge from San Rafael to Richmond for brunch before heading down to Mountain View. We could have gone through the Golden Gate Bridge but it was closed that morning for a marathon. In Mountain View we met my friend who works in Silicon Valley. He showed us around his work place and then we all went to the Computer History Museum. I noticed that the other museum goers around me found it very interesting. I found the displays of computers from the 1980s onwards to be more recognizable to computers we have today, so it was more interesting for me to read those information boards.
Departing from the museum, we drove to Heritage Rose Garden because I read online that it was a good place to view cherry blossom trees in the spring. When we went, there was only one tree in bloom, which was slightly disappointing. It's not easy to catch them at the right time!
Next, we went to Stanford Shopping Center to walk around before heading to San Mateo for dinner. It is a nice outdoor shopping center with well groomed flowers and lots of outdoor seating spaces to rest. In the evening, we drove back to downtown San Francisco to our accommodation for the next three nights.
