The sun was shining again after an entire day of rain. We were fortunate that yesterday was the only rainy day in our entire trip and we had planned to stay in anyways. This morning, we drove west to Sacramento and visited the California State Capitol building in the old downtown. There were wedding and prom photoshoots happening on its steps. Entrance is free but everyone needs to go through a security check via the side entrance.

The building acts as more of a museum now with the rooms arranged in ways past government leaders used to use them. There were free on site tours and staff that could help answer questions.

Departing from the Capitol building, we headed to Boiling Crab! This was my first time having Boiling Crab but I’ve had seafood boil before so I knew what to expect. The food was fresh and we all had a good time digging in with our hands.

Travelling west across the San Francsico Bay, we wanted to head to Battery Spencer. It is on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge but there was no parking, so we kept driving along Conzelman Road until we found parking by the side of the mountain. It was a great view from above looking down on the entire bridge. There were even people biking up the very steep hill which was impressive. After taking photos of the bridge, we drove to Sausalito which was close by to see the harbour area.

Before heading to our hotel in San Rafael, we stopped for dinner in In-N-Out. I have never had In-N-Out before and the burgers really were pretty good! The milkshake was definitely much too sugary for me though!
