Mysterious Platform of Tokyo Metro Ginza Line
Hidden Inside Omotesando Station
Speaking of Omotesando, I bet shopping and high-end fashion brand names come to your mind. You are right! Even for Japanese, Omotesando is a "Oshare お洒落" spot for shopping and dining. If you are lucky, you may even have a chance to bump into some Japanese celebrities!
The easiest way to get to omotesando is to take the Tokyo Metro trains (Ginza Line, Hanzomon Line, Chiyoda Line).
This 143 km long Tokyo Metro Ginza Line was opened on 30 December 1927
In order to prepare for the 2020 Olympics and constructions in Shibuya, Ginza Line's Shibuya Station will be relocated. Temporary service suspension are scheduled as follows:
Shibuya Station <-> Omotesando Station
AND
Aoyama-Itchome Station <->Tameike-sanno Station
1) Full day on November 5 and November 6, 2016
2) Full day on November 19 and November 20, 2016
So if you are planning to visit Omotesando on those weekends, you can alternatively take Hanzomon Line and Chiyoda Line to get there!
Back to our topic today, recently, Tokyo Metro released some special pictures of the "old platform of Ginza Line's Omotesando Station". This is very interesting indeed!

With the lights on, you can see it more clearly. It looks like a movie set to me. What kind of movies? Well, you know it :P

As you may have known, smoking is not allowed in all stations now. However, back in the past, smoking was allowed even on the platform. This signage is telling the place where you can throw away your cigarette butt.

A person was sitting at the gate to collect your ticket! This is definitely something that you can't see today.
