We are moving to Japan!
Our big news this spring and why you did not receive a 2014 Christmas letter is because WE ARE MOVING TO
Some of you know Bob was stationed in Okinawa , Japan while in the Marines and has always wanted to return. I was not so sure about relocating so we did the next best thing, we began hosting Japanese students. We hosted students for a couple years and have grown to love and appreciate their culture. Through a series of events this past year, including Bob’s job transfer and Alex changing schools, it seemed like the right time to pursue jobs in Japan .
We were originally looking at International schools in Japan beginning March 2014. We missed the hiring season and had to wait about 6 months for things to pick up in December/January. When things started to pick back up, we had experienced a shift away from International schools and felt very strongly about connecting with a Christian school. We interviewed with four different schools and landed at KCS in Heguri , Japan .
It is a small, private, Christian school serving missionary families in rural Japan , about 30 minutes east of Osaka . Bob and I both will be teaching. He will be teaching math, science and Bible and I will be teaching part-time 11th and 12thgrade English Literature as well as coordinating the yearbook. All classes are taught in English so Alex and Stephanie will attend the school as well.

We will be renting our home and plan to be inJapan 2 years. We are very excited to be partnering with KCS and look forward to investing in the relationships with our former students. I wish I could share the amazing events on our journey to this decision. God is so good to us, faithful, and leading us where we need to be.

KCS is one of several organizations serving the Osaka and Mongolia area with Jesus for Japan. Their website is (www.jesus4greaterasia.com) to learn more. We feel very fortunate and blessed to be joining such a rich and established Christian community.
Because KCS is a a private Christian school for missionary families, they try to keep tuition down by providing teachers a modest monthly stipend. As a result, we will be raising support to assist with housing, insurance, transportation and daily living expenses. We are working with Bethany International Ministries to process support, obtain our Religious Activities visas and serve as our international liaison.

Please be sure to reference Bob and Kelly Chadduck on the memo line.
We are aware this may take some of you by surprise so feel free to contact us if you want to know more. We are embarking on a great adventure and believe God has lead us to this place and will guide and sustain us as we step out in faith.
